Hi Folks.

I wondered if someone could help with a quick question.

I have an Audi Q5 from 2012. I took it to get a service some months back and ever since the car has been spitting out a "turn engine off, check coolant level, contact workshop" type error. My girlfriend took it back to the garage to check that was correct and they said all fine, probably a sensor issue.

So I took a look myself (finally got some time), and the coolant level is clearly above the MAX level (eg, it's been overfilled). This is when the engine has sat overnight in the cold.

So it's likely that these ejits have overfilled it. Tomorrow I'll likely extract some then see if that fixed the error.

My question is how the car hasn't spat out the excess? I heard most modern cars do this (eg spitting out any extra on the road over time). Is 2012 too old for that perk? Anyone know if the Audi Q5 Hybrid (2012) has that overflow feature?

Thanks!

Jason
