Hi all.

I have the A3 rnse with Bose AMI. I’m currently weighing up options and after some advice.

1) first option is go down the tune2air route

2) get an aftermarket head unit, this is where I need a bit more help. Obviously the xtrons etc they’re not the greatest. So if I look at a kenwood/pioneer what other bits would I need to get the Bose system working properly? And is it worth it?

Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I have the standard amplified setup in my 8p S3. Just fitted a Kenwood DMX 7017 with the connects2 wiring kit.

Think this is the one I have

Amp is working as expected and it sounds great, for me I like the look of the RNS E but found it pretty limiting.

Also thinking I can sell it for a half decent amount too, esp as mine is the MK2 version.

That’s what I’m after. Does the head unit you’ve got got 2 pre outs for full front and rear Bose?

I need to check what I’ve got to be fair.

Is they’re any cutting or splicing of cables?

Yeah the RNSE is horrific in my opinion.

My head unit has three sets of preouts. It’s powering all of the speakers without issue.

There wasn’t any splicing when it was installed.
