Hi, I’m looking to purchase an Audi rs3 8p, I currently have a S3 8p manual, could anyone who was lucky enough to own both let me know if their is much between the S3 and rs3? Just don’t wanna be disappointed with the £10k in price difference for a similar car? I know the sound alone of the 5pot is worth it but are they much quicker than the s3?My S3 is also stage 1 thanks!

There not similar in any way shape or form. I’ve gone from a 2L TFSI A3 8P to S3 8P to RS3 8P. Hindsight I wish I cut out the S3 and went straight to the RS but it’s in a different league. The S3 boys love to say a stage 2 S3 is similar to an RS but it’s all rubbish. Drive one yourself and you’ll know. Plus the tuning capability are endless with the 2.5TFSI. I’ve been running stage 3 now for 3 years over 500+

Same here.

Owned 2 S3’s (2010 SB & 2011 3door) before taking the plunge in 2012 for the 8P RS3.

At the time I was trying to justify spending 17k + the S3 for not much apparent change.

Go drive one is all I will say

Don’t have a piggy back map for your mapping, go to a specialist for example MRC, TTU or storm for a decent map. These piggy back plug ins don’t account for engine performance mods so may be restricting any gains.

Oh is that all they are? Been told it went to Germany to have the work done, But it’s bought me and I know what you mean now they are in a different league, just feel more of an expensive and better quality car even know it’s the same cabin haha

Loads of touches you can do inside to make it stand out. Costly and time consuming but it stands out.

Are the tte500 turbos worth the upgrade from stage 1? How much roughly did it cost for the supporting hardware and software to get to stage 3?thanks

I’ve been down the TTE route for 2 years and now running the TTU510s hybrid which is more low end power so better for daily drivability. TTE was top end. With all the hardware your looking about £5k then mapping

Did you take test drive the one Sutherland cars? I work on the same estate and saw someone take it out last Saturday..

Yes mate I did haha, small world ehh, unfortunately I have just missed out on it though

I can’t believe that haha, I’m absolutely gutted about it, travelled all the way from hull but I’m still on the hunt for one, shame it was a really nice example

It looks immaculate. I drive from Cardiff to Bristol twice every day for work, and the Sutherland one is the only other 8P RS3 I see.

Few scratches here and there but nothing a machine polisher couldn’t handle, that one was for sale since October I think and as soon as I made a move it sells! Just my luck, I’m getting impatient looking for the right one now they don’t come up often like that. I like the 8V but like you say you hardly ever see the 8P’s and I think they are just that little bit more special to be fair

Definitely, I see an 8V pretty much everywhere I go. Plus the 8P doesn't seem to be going anywhere price wise. Makes sense . Keep looking, the right car will crop up..

I have a White Stage 2 (MRC Tuned) Car I'll probably be putting up for Sale end of the Month Register May 2011 Owned for just over 18 Months With Full History 57000 Miles Handling and Cosmetic Mods as well as performance Looking for about £18K if any interest to you:

I saw a 62 plate Daytona with the Matt aluminium pack today....my god it was gorgeous.
I wish I had one........but it's still on my bucket list

Thanks but I was looking for something with a little less miles mate, is a really nice car though

After owning a 2008 Audi S3 8P Stage 2+, I bought a 2012 Audi RS3 and can tell you it is a different car... it never disappoints.

Aw no don’t start me again hahah, I ended up keeping the s3 hoping soon to be hybrid turbo but I have a soft spot for the RS3’s

I hear you, I sold my S3 8P back in 2016.. owned a Q5 in between and was in the market for an S3 8V . But there are just so many on the roads here in South Africa, eventually traded the Q5 in for the RS3 8P on Tuesday and I tell you the looks the car gets is insane.. definitely, a sought after classic here, not many on the roads in this condition. 75k km on the clock and car is an absolute mint condition.
