Could anyone help me out and tell me if I would need to get a remap running a full Valvetronic exhaust system with a ramair induction kit?

Ideally yes if you want to benefit fully from gains of exhaust plus intake but if you still in modding season then no do all the other bit and bobs for stage 2 or 2plus and then map once

Although if car has decated exhaust then yes you will need it mapped

I'm running a BCS Powervalve 100 cell race cat and full Cold Air Intake, also with a Stage2 intercooler with some other mods with no remap as I'm waiting for my booking at R-Tech for Stage2+ and have been getting all the pre-requisite upgrades done in advance. Runs totally fine and is producing about 30bhp over stock (around 295 currently) just because of the improved airflow. Absolutely no issues whatsoever, been running this setup for approx 12 months.

@e9_mustii is absolutely correct though that you won't see any real power gains until you get the ECU remapped for it. If you're going Stage2/2+ then have a look around on here, there are plenty of threads with full specs of what you'll need, but briefly:

Stage2 Minimum Spec:
- Intake/induction kit
- TBE exhaust or downpipe at minimum, sport or race cat recommended (or decat, needs map)
- High Pressure Fuel Pump (or Auto-Tech internals) with 136bar RSV Fuel Pressure Return Valve
- Miller's Nanodrive 5w40 NT+ Oil
- 97-99 RON Fuel - Shell vPower, BP Ultimate or Tesco Momentum

Optional but recommended extra include:

- Stage2 Airtec/Wagner Front Mounted Intercooler (optional, but is the main difference between Stage2 (upto 340bhp) and Stage2+ (upto 380/90 bhp and alot more torque)
- Iridium NGK BKR7EIX Spark Plugs
- Injector Service and Walnut Blast / Decoke
- Clutch/DMF upgrade if manual or DSG Remap
- Brakes, Suspension upgrades

Will the 100 CELL race cat fit mine though? It’s a dual exhaust not twin 4?

Dual exhausts as in two tail pipes on the left side of the rear, as opposed to split exhaust with tailpipes/dual pipes on opposite sides of the rear?

Just 2 tail pipes on the left side of the rear?

Yeah that's standard. It's a single exhaust all the way from the turbo to the backbox at which point it becomes two tail pipes. The cat is at the opposite end just after the downpipe from the turbo.

Here are the BCS exhausts available for the S3 8p:

They have 3 sound levels for their full TBE systems:

- Prestige - Dual silencers
- Sport - Single Silencer
- WRC - No silencers

All have the same downpipe options (72 or 90mm) sport or race cat (200 Vs 100 cell) and the same backbox and valve system.
I've got the WRC which is the loudest and when off boost its barely louder than stock really, but on full boost when it becomes a full 3" straight through exhaust it's absolutely savage.
Had mine 12 months and only had the EML come on twice in the last few weeks for the Cat efficiency and both times I was pottering about on the motorway at 50mph in cool weather, essentially the cat wasn't hot enough to be at full efficiency. I've got a cheap OBDII scanner in all the time hooked up to my Xtrons Android Head Unit and I can simply check and clear the code on the fly in the Torque app and it's off again. Got my first MOT with it next week and my garage - the local German Specialists have said they have no concerns it'll pass as long as it's warm/hot.
Oh and it's all totally street legal as long as it's declared on your insurance - I'm with the excellent Greenlight with all my mods declared and no issues whatsoever.

Nice man may have to get one of those to be on the safe side. I’ll probably go for the WRC. Is there much difference between the race cat and standard 76mm or 90mm? Nearly £400 for race cat I’m seeing lol

Yeah the BCS systems are highly rated by members of this forums. Miles better than anything Milltek or Scorpion are offering these days, but they are expensive as you can see but worth it without a doubt.

I've got the standard 76mm downpipe but did opt for it to be titanium heat wrapped which is only an extra £40. That's good for upto 400bhp which is beyond Stage2+ which usually tops out at around 380-390bhp if you're lucky. The 90mm downpipe is aimed at people wanting Stage3 and beyond i.e. big turbo setups and pushing the engine to 440bhp or higher (with forged pistons etc). It's an extra £140 for the 90mm downpipe. I also went for the Lightning tips and got them ceramic black powder coated which I'd highly recommend.

In terms of the cats I'm not sure what the actual difference in noise or performance would be, very little I would think. They used to only offer the 200 cell Sports Cat, the 100 cell Race Cat is a relatively new option. Its the same price for either of them. What you're seeing is the price of having one or not. If you don't choose a cat then you're going decat and you can take £400 off the price. Personally I'd never go decat, it's illegal for road use for one, a PITA at MOT unless you "know a guy" and offers little if anything over a decent Race/Sports cat and the ones that BCS use are the absolute best ones you can buy and have a 5 year guarantee on them and are road legal. My BCS WRC race cat system lets out louder bangs and growls that my mates scorpion system which is a full decat and also straight through and I don't have any of the MOT blag he does. The reason the BCS systems kick out such loud bangs is partly due to the 12mm hole in the backbox (I think) which creates the bang on upshifts under heavy throttle. It's savage mate trust me. Ask Nigel he'll tell you all about it.

Here's me doing a 2nd to 3rd upshifts under 2/3rds throttle in a tunnel to give you just some idea of what it sounds like.

Give Nigel at BCS a call. He's an incredibly friendly guy and knows everything about these systems. Mention you're from the Audi Sport forums as he does do a bit of a discount for members.
