Standing start, that's where Launch control and S-Tronic come into it's own. Think it'd be closer is the S3 was a manual.

Also, that V8 might need de-choking

I'm not surprised the S3 is an awful lot lighter which makes a huge difference

I've had a B7 with stage 2 Mrc and full carbon clean and although I loved it, its not the fasted. When I bought my S3 and had it running Apr stage 1 I had a little go alongside my mates stage 2 B7 and the S3 just had it, never did any lunches though, just rolling pulls. Now I'm stage 2 the B7 would get annihilated.

S3 is a very under rated car tbf and LC makes a massive difference from zero.
