AVS Servicing

Have done a couple of searches through the forum just to find out a bit more about AVS servicing.

Mainly, is it purely based on mileage or are there other factors to determine how long until the next service. i.e. magnetic sensors to detect oil quality or any other data used?

Since I bought the car I have been on AVS servicing and in the last year have done around 10k miles. The dash says I have around another 3.5k miles until I need to service. I always use the correct 507.00 top up oil if needed. Also wondering if AVS servicing is worthwhile or should I just service it regularly every year?

2.0TDI 56 S-Line if it makes any difference :)

Personally I stick to 10k, longlife 20k for me is far to long for oil to run in the engine, at the end of the day if you want longevity, then lesser mileage services will always be better.

Thanks for that. While on the subject, how does the variable servicing work. Is it dependant on Engine speeds etc as well as mileage?
