B6 Bulb Warning ??

Hi Guys

At the Weekend I discovered one of my stop tail bulbs had completely blown (Vacuum gone)

didn't have a bulb failure warning ??

Is it fitted to all B6 models or only some ?

Have enabled full DIS and thought bulb fail was part of standard Audi A4 spec.

Have you got the colour DIS or the red one?

I'm sure from what I have read (although I could be wrong) that some cars didn't have the bulb warning. Whether it is something that came in on B6 cars after a certain date or if it was part of an option I'm not sure. But I'm pretty sure its not on all of them.

Very odd

Mine was just std red MTE display but I bought a stalk and enabled DIS.

My Base model A3 8L had Bulb out warning & Puddle lights & Lit vanity mirrors.

I can't believe how much they scrimped on the B6

Anyone know if the bulb warning can be enabled in VCDS ?

My late 2004 def has bulb out warning and checking function.

Nope mine defo does not, as i have a dodgy indicator holder, so sometimes goes of, only warning i get is me indicators going mental !!
Can it be turned on through VCDS?

Yep an me Rick, me 8L had it and that was just a sport model, really shocked the B6 dont have this!

For reference, mine is a '04 plate Sport with Red DIS (full height) and does have the bulb warning.

Mine is a 53 plate (Feb 04) Sport with a full height red Display (I added stalk and turned on full DIS)

Might mean I have no CAN wiring ?

Wonder is any of the retrofit experts on here know what defines having bulb warning fitted or not.
Maybe it's the steering wheel controller (Mine is a Controller: 8E0 953 549 S)

Do you know yours Icarus ? (VCDS shows it)

funny i had a tail light out recently and no bulb warning, i have 03 with red dis display
