best de-wiper blank?

Hello, as per title... What do people recommend for blanking off the rear wiper? I used a rubber grommet which my friends referred to as the car's butt plug so would like to go for a glass/acrylic blank instead.

Could you please advise whats best and where to get them from.

Cheers :)

That's because they are made that way.

My opinion is that it's there for a reason and visability is safety .

You will find this dewipering is a minority poor practice for fashion victims .

I keep my car clean and use Rain-x, so visibility is never an issue.

I've been a suffering fashion victim for nearly a year now :sorry:

Front would be silly and illegal, rear in no different to tints, vinyls, vans, wagons and alike.

Nothing about fashion I just personally don't like them as they hold dust ready for when you do need to use it and then promptly scrapes it along the glass. Also they are dam ugly

Gecleant.de are by far the best. Their quality is superior to other brands. You get what you pay for.

If the rubber one does the job, why look for another because of what they said?

Well the wiper is there to assist with visibility, which is fact, not your opinion lol. You'll find that in general visibility isn't greatly impaired without a wiper, so isn't as poor of a practice as you think - which is also a fact.

The later is a matter of opinion .

Well no it is a fact as mentioned above they don't come on on every vehicle, some have vinyls that cover up the window completely and some dont even have rear windows. So he is right in saying it doesn't greatly impear visibility as you don't drive starring through it like you do the front. Also, Gtechniq G1 and G2 significantly assist with both front and rear visibility

Rain X or whatever you want to put on helps but isn't a cure .

Driving along in most vehicles in wet conditions at 50mph and above the air vortices comming of the rear of the vehicle coats the back in seconds with that horrible road film .

The more upright the glass the worse it is .

Like I said , thankfully it's a minority fashion victim practice and the majority have the common sence to leave be the bidet .

I thought people dewipered there cars because they were too tight to fix there nackered rear wiper.
When I see a dewipered car it just looks wrong, something is missing, for the worse.
Removing it does nothing for me regarding style, I would rather have a working wiper and a switch in the car that works.
I actually used to like the look of the old escorts ghia si saloon or orion or whatever they called them, with its quirky rear wiper.
Rear Wiper ftw
I have an A5 coupe by the way, factory dewipered with a wiper stalk that works!

I hate slammed cars but that doesn't mean it's wrong, it's just personal preference and that's where general modding comes into it.

Regarding road film, I wash my car too often to notice it. And even if it does coat whilst driving I can still see through it fine as it all just beads the crap together. Then when I need to park for example the sensors + wing mirrors are there for any assistance needed.

If they were that important, they would be an MOT requirement and all cars would have them.

Cars don't need tails, cats and dogs do :)

To those de-wipering their cars go right ahead, it's your vehicle and you can do whatever you like with it!
However, I do find it daft that people try to justify it by saying that they're not needed.
If the manufacturers didn't think they were required for safety reasons then they wouldn't have fitted them, just think how much money they could save by not fitting wiper motors etc to each car if that was the case....
My mum has a Mercedes coupe that has no rear wiper; it doesn't need one , no matter how bad the weather the rear glass always remains clean.
All my Audis to-date (80 Avant, A4 Avant and now A3 Sportback) have had bodywork where a working rear wiper has been absolutely essential for safe motoring/visibility.
The next time those of you with de-wipered cars are on the motorway when it's peeing down with rain and road spray is nicely obscuring your rear glass just remember that those of us with a factory set-up will have almost complete visibility again with a simple flick of a stalk.
Fashion victim or an old square, I know which I'd rather be....LOL.

Sorry but I know which one I prefer, and it most certainly isn't the photo with the waggy tail!

Having survived the winter without needing to use the rear wiper I'm fairly sure I will be fine without it, Gtechniq G1 solves those worries.
