Hi

I constantly get the oil light flashing on my dash. The oil was only changed recently along with the filter and oil pressure switch. The light comes on every 10-15 minutes once the car has warmed up and then goes away, 10-15 minutes later it comes back again.

Is anyone else getting this problem? It’s getting quite annoying now.

After some snooping around and I think it may have something to do with the type of oil I used (I used diesel of course, just one from a high street). Is there a specific one I should use for best performance???

Can anyone pin point what the problem may be, thank you in advance!!

Slips ( Audi A4 1.9 TDI 1996)

Any help appreciated

If your car has the PD (pumpe-duse) engine than the oil you should be using is a PD oil which carries the VW code 505.01 the viscosity is 5w-40.

If not then the code would be 505.00 which is either 0w-40, 5w-40 or 10w-40.

Cheers
Simon

you dont have the pd engine if your is a 1996 model.

The factory fill is by a German Company called Fuchs Lubricants.

They supply VAG with 15,000,000 litres per annum.

Their oils and the specs are on my website.

Cheers
