Boot bag hook issue

Apparently my groceries were too much for the bag hook thing, and this happened:

How can I remove this part to see whether it can be fixed? I know the part code is 8V0863523, but of course repairing is always preferred.

I received instructions from ZeA38VSport via PM; here's what I did step by step & a photo collage:

1. Look at the sorry state of the hook.
2. Grab the hook assembly and rotate it a bit, after which it just comes off.
3. The hook has been bent too far down and the brass-coloured spring no longer returns it to closed position.
4. Lift the end of the spring a little and bend the hook to its normal position, with a bit of force, and it returns to normal.
5. Insert hook assembly.
6. Twist to normal position.

I suppose one could just force the hook back up without removing the assembly, but I don't like using force on plastic bits without knowing the inner workings.
