Since I've been on ASN I,ve seen a few threads asking want size brake discs I have as standed so I,ve desided to put together the list I have from my Audi repair manual

Your car will have 2 codes within it's build spec list that form part of the vehicals spec plate/sticker which can be found in the service book or under the mats in the boot.Heres a photo of mine. CODES 002

The codes you need are on the second line of box 5 so mine are 1KD(rears) and 1ZE(fronts)

So heres the list FRONTS 1ZA 1ZC 1ZM 1ZD 1LJ are 312mm
1ZE 1ZP are 288mm
1ZF are 280mm
1ZK 1LK 345mm
1LG are 370mm(RS3)

REARS front wheel drive 1KD are 255mm
1KE 1KF are 260mm
1KQ are 255mm
1KU are 286mm
1KZ 1KJ are 286mm

4 wheel drive 1KF are 260mm
1KJ 1KU are 286mm
1KW 2EA are 310mm
(RS3 312mm)

Hope this helps as you can use these codes when ordering new parts and will save you having to remove the discs first in order to find you size first.
These code will also tell you the type of brake caliper/piston size/brake disc max and min thickness and pad thickness and wear limits.

Nice work. Lee540 was looking for this info earlier. Perhaps that's what's made you put this up :)

Sorry to dig this up.

I have 1KS ### 1ZA listed on mine

So thats 312mm for the fronts, but the rears arent listed. MTEc replied
"there are 3 sizes of rear - 260mm, 282mm and 286mm" for my car

I have a 2011 A3 2.0tdi Quattro, Cheers

I'm having the same issue...is it possible to fit 288 if you have 255mm without
upgrading components?

Does anyone know what size 1KS rear discs are?

Hi thanks for that chart just been in the book and it is showing 1LJ, if i have understood this to be correct 312mm front and the back being 1KZ 286mm. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP :thumbs up: SAVED ALOT OF HASSLE.

really helpful info and it help me in finding my A3 1.8tfsi brake rotors size, however there's one mistake rear disc rotor of my A3 is 1KE which is 272mm not 260mm. Thanks

Thats why it is good to do your own research . In future try this site ,( 7zap.com) but sometimes they can be wrong as Audi change things quickly .
A good way off finding the correct things for your car is to pay whatever it costs at ( https://erwin.audi.com/erwin/showHome.do ) that way you wont go wrong , use there 24hr payment thing and download all about your car , worth getting DATA SHEET
