Brake pad wear indicator - 1.4tfsi?

Hi everyone!

I'm new to this site and could do with some help please!

I've got a an A3 1.4tfsi (2010) and a while back when I got my car checked over the mechanic said my rear brake pads were 3/4 worn. I've tried to buy some new brake pads online but I've been asked if I've got a brake pad wear indicator on my car! I haven't got a clue - does anyone know if this model has or how I can find out?

And if the car does have a wear indicator, does it apply to the rear brake pads? I've read online somewhere that it only applies to the front. I don't want to pay more for the wear indicator pads if they don't even apply to the rear brakes!

What mileage on the car?
Have the fronts been changed in the past?

Mileage on the car is 35000 - not sure if the fronts have been changed, I got the car in Feb and I haven't done anything with them!
