Interesting...seems the engine code on the block is actually AUQ.....which i do not understand as surely that was a transverse engine?

Most dealers have them in stock as it is a common problem, think it is about a tenner......

Ha! I done this the other night on my 1.9tdi! I went to Audi and got one for £3.90 and picked it up the next day.

To refit (assuming it's a similar experience on the 1.8t) it pushes on and clips in place, but even when pushing as hard as I could, it wouldn't 'pop' on. So I put a wine cork in the top of the pipe and after about 5 or 6 medium-force taps with a hammer it clipped on (without the wine cork it would have broke it again, but I suppose a towel or something would do).
