calling aircon experts if possible

problem is as follows

Audi A3 1.9tdi 2009, climate control, warm air on all settings down to 16 degrees, when 'LO' selected fan speeds up and temperature does drop a bit but possibly as outside air is drawn in?

Went for a regas, told that 545g removed from system and 525g put in so seems to be holding onto the gas/ no leaks.

No change to engine note/ rpm when AC switched on but larger silver pipe definatly chills down, thinner silver pipe still warm

Tried to connect with VCDS but no information showing/ no communication?, (tried on another VAG car and lots of readings)

Flaps reset

I was told that even though the compressor is cooling the gas, the solenoid valve inside the pump could be faulty.

Looking for ideas on how to proceed, what to check next, how to get VCDS readings etc

So if you got no comms with hvac module that’ll need looking into. Check power/ground to module first.

So I would need to check connections?, I can see a plug into the compressor, I read about fuses so I will see where they are located, any other areas to check connections/ wiring? Thanks

Check fuse first. Then power/grounds at module.
When you attempt to access with vcds, can you access the module at all? Can you post a full scan?

Will start to investigate at the first opportunity, will try to find a fuse diagram for my car, when you refer to the HVAC module, is this the control unit below the radio or another unit? hopefully will be able to post a scan soon

OK so I have run some tests and checks,


a full scan with VCDS shows a fault with a glowplug which I was aware of but nothing on the HVAC system.

I then ran some output tests and Measuring blocks and there seems to be a fault with the G65 pressure sensor

The 3 pin plug to the condenser measures 12v with ignition on and 14v with the engine running

If this plug is disconnected, AC can't be activated

The2 pin plug to the compressor measures 0.81v with ignition or engine on and 9.63v with AC selected and engine on

Any feedback is welcome, I'm presuming the results point to the G65 sensor although I read some owners have replaced this and that wasn't the problem.

If I need to do any other checks etc please let me know,
