Good'ay fellow forum'ers and in paticular all the "wheel whores" reading this. Not sure this is the correct place for the enquiry - if not go easy on me, I'm sorry.

I have an 04 2.0FSI. To cut a long story short I have very luckily stumbled across some 19" Sportec wheels but need a little advice before fitment.

The tyres on them at the moment (well 2 of them are shagged) are Michelin Pilot? I think and they are 245's. I am looking into putting the car on coilovers within the next month and wondered would they fit when the cars been lowered?

I dont have any further specs on the wheels at the moment as have only viewed them once - but have been told that they were originally on a GOLF R32 MK1 - so should it be a direct fit for my A3? Will I need any adaptors? what figures on the tyre etc should I be looking for to ensure good fitment?

Any advice from you pros out there would be muchos appreciated

Cheers

Your A3 = 5x112

Mk4 R32 = 5x100

Back to the drawing board.

Plus, depending on how low you want to go on the coilovers, you will need 215's ideally to avoid rubbing

That's the least of his issues if the PCD is wrong...

ok -update. apparently the guy that had them on his mk4 r32 had some h&r wheel adapters to take it from 112 to 100 in order to fit it to the r32.

so im guessing that the wheels will be direct fit. so lets say i stick abit of rubber on them at 225 or 235 and lower - but not stupid low - just so the wheel fills the arches will it need much work?

my uncles a panel beater by trade and said that the arches might need rollling?!

Mk4 offsets are high like A3s they are low, so they will not fit, HENCE my original post of back2:

Not strictly true N8, ET35 is fine on a Mk4, it was only on the Mk5 chassis that VAG moved to a very high offset.

I typed that wrong Pete, I meant they are usually low and A3/mk5 high......
