That's a good question especially with these frosty mornings.

Try it! Just be savvy and have someone sitting in car while manually lock

I've done that a few weeks ago when it was frosty and yes it woks fine. manually unlock in 5 minutes and jump in to a toasty car with a clear windscreen and a warm bum !

and was going to do it this morning but it refused to start so I got a very cold bum whilst cycling to work

Could always get a turbo timer instead.

Why ? just want to leave it running for five minuets on a frosty morning to defrost, the car lives out on the road so can't leave it unlocked, would be gone in a flash round here

... so you can time the car to be running 5 minutes and lock the car with your keys.

Or do it in style. Standard issue up here. Engine block and cabin heater. The trendy ones can be operated from your I phone.
