Chassis number to find year of Manufacture

Am i correct in thinking WAUZZZ8L52100**** is a 2002 model.
I have read somewhere that the 8L is the model but am not sure what the 52 is.

you should have a 2002 A3 which was built in Hungary

S3 registered in France, dont know where it was built but i will go with you on the Hungary thing,
That possibly explains why the coil pack failed and its off the road the fact it was built in hungary.

Next question,
Are all S3's built in 2002 225BHP models or were their still some 210 built then,
Also is there any way of telling the difference under the bonnet.

Err no it's in the boot surprisingly:- there is a sticker with all the car's details on it the engine code bam =225 all others =210 allegedly, also 154kw=210 165kw=225 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I know about the Engine codes from today after ordering the coils,
I think some of the pipes are routed a different way on the 225 than the 210 under the bonnet. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/goofy.gif

Thats what i was told anyway.
