Now I know there are things that take place when you move from Drive to Sport, but I have noticed a quite distinct 'chirp' every time I do it.....should I be worried?!

Its almost like what ever valves/engine changes take place need a good oil.

I only really hear it at low speed and perhaps when along side a hedge or built up area.

If its normal then fine, but if its something that should be looked into, i'll get it sorted.

Probably your valve on exhaust flap starting to stick.
When you hit the S button the valve opens as vacuum is lost. If you look under your exhaust tips when someone else is in the car and hit the button you’ll probably hear the suspicious area.
