Facelift Cluster swap out

Hi so,

I was thinking about swapping out the clusters I have currently for the ones with the slightly bigger screen. How ever, on investigating the parts I understand that there would be some coding involved. Not only that but I have come to realise that one the cluster with the slightly bigger screen, it has a extra cable.

I’ll add some pictures with what I mean.

I believe that the current cluster I have won’t have this connector. Would I need to get that connector/ wire?

Any information would be most helpful

I enquired with a few VAG coding specialists about swapping a VC cluster I to mine, most of them reckon the coding side of it is near impossible, please let me know if you find someone to do it!

I’ve talked to a few vcom people that can install the virtual cockpit with all the coding so this couldn’t be any harder than that tbh

Not a hard job, just a little time consuming. Additional cable is MOST / optical fibre which links to the MMI system. Security works are involved so only an authorised VW Group services partner can complete these works. I myself would need all the keys, a v5c, proof of ID and address before doing anything.

Edit: Note... Used clusters cannot have their milage adjusted.

Not something I'd be looking at doing right now, but when I do though, where are you based and what kind of price are we looking at to get a VC coded into a non VC car?
