Hi peeps

Got a little problem.

My clutch has decided to shoot forward without any prior warning when driving home last night (in between gear changes). Bit peed off that i had to be recovered (twice this year now, diff prob each time).

Anyone else experienced this? I am already dreading the costs for repairs.....

Any help is appreciated

Tim
PS luckily i broke down outside a pub /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif

PPS but it was closed /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Lightening strikes twice!

do you mean the pedal dropped to the floor? That sounds like the clutch cable broke? (Never looked at clutch myself but assume it's cable-operated?).
If cable then I would hope it's a pretty cheap repair.

unbelievable

That's exactly what has happened to mine /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/[censored].gif

Thanks for the help guys... £90 though for a new pedal! surely this is a design flaw?

This happened to me about two weeks ago.
Put my foot on the clutch in the works car park and, bang it went... The Audi specialist i had it towed to said it happens to all VAG cars, Polos, Golfs etc....
He said its usually the pedal box that knacks and they weld them back up to make them stronger than new. This wasn't the case with mine though, it was the actual pedal that had broken up (I'm guessing where the pivot point is near the top of the pedal). From memory I'm sure the pedal was only £35+vat - I'll check when i get home for you.
