Apologies for bumping this old thread, but has anyone fitted a better clutch to their S1 yet? If so, how does it feel? Is it more difficult to drive in traffic?

I have a Sachs clutch fitted I have gone for the sintered one which I have been told is very snappy but if you go for the organic one it is supposed to feel similar to the original Audi one. When I get my car back on Saturday I will be able to say how it feels @thewanted

Thanks @DTYME83. Looking forward to your review of it. How much did the labour cost if I may ask?

I will let you know when I get my car back as awesome have actually carried out a lot of work on the car @thewanted

Cool, thanks. I'm curious because I'm fitting my Burger Motorsports JB1 piggyback soon, and I have no doubt that a new clutch will have to follow shortly.

I have the organic sachs. Drives similar, just heavier pedal. Got 6k miles plus on mine and it's been hammered.. Sprinting, drag racing, etc -running revo stage 1 btw

As long as it's only marginally heavier, that's okay. How much did it cost fitted?

How many people would be actually interested in ordering a sach clutch ?
As may ask if they would offer some kind of group discount for all of us ?

1, banana split
2, thewanted

Let's see if we can get at least 5 by mid week and I will have a ring around to see who can offer the best deal

Just get a few people to launch theirs a couple of times, then you'll have plenty of takers :p

Yeah that's what I'm thinking :yum:
I'm looking to go just stage 1 but after reading up seems like the best thing to do is the couch to make sure it can handle the extra load

I will be fitting sachs uprated organic clutch to my car on Wednesday! Will take pics of install and post here :)

might be interested dependant on price

I will be calling around either tomorrow or Friday depending how busy am at work. Need a bit more interest to push for a better discount

has any one looked at helix for clutches ? had one in my mk5 edition 30 and was well impressed

Spoked to awesomegti
They can do 5 organic clutches for £460 but they said they would need to be all ordered in one go to one person then for them to distribute them to everyone else

Thanks for phoning. Unfortunately it's no cheaper when you factor in the shipping from you to us.

Does anyone know how much it should cost to have the Sachs clutch fitted?

I will find out today for you. However once you get used to it the clutch is absolutely insane and that's the sintered version @thewanted

Thanks :) I don't need more than the 407lb/ft offered by the organic version though. It should be easier to live with compared to the sintered version.

The cost of fitting the clutch is on my bill however it also has the cost of the other stuff so not sure what the exact charge is @thewanted

No I will speak with Al at awesome GTI today and let you know so don't worry @thewanted

For the sake of those that may be wondering, the Sachs organic clutch is £927 fitted at Awesome GTI. Not a terrible price considering that an OEM clutch for a haldex-equipped vehicle at Audi costs £1000 fitted.

I think it's more like 6 hours. An Audi specialist near me in London charges £72 incl. VAT for labour. If we apply that price to Awesome GTI, then it works out to 5.75 hours.

£927 - £513 (clutch) = £414.
£414 / £72 = 5.75 hours.

Yeah I think there is a lot of striping down to access the clutch @thewanted

Yes fiited my clutch 2 weeks ago! Have been on holiday since so not had chance to update! Audi warranty time for fitting clutch is 8 hours including wheel alignment! Clutch takes some getting used to at first as its 2/3 times heavier but softened a bit after use and now feels like standard. I have organic clutch and hold power amazingly well! Will get some videos this week at some point to show milltek and revo at its best.

Below are pic of new vs old clutch and car on ramp having clutch and h&r springs fitted!

For some reason pics of car after and new clutch are too big to load from iphone so will upload tonight when im home on laptop of if anyone wants them sooner can email/txt if you pm me

Thanks for the update :) Do you think that the clutch pedal has got softer, or did you just get used to it?

I had no idea that wheel alignment will need to be done afterwards. Thanks for the heads up!

The clutch pedal does get a little softer, mine is now low down I love it
