Coding help please !!

Hey guys

Both my keys have not worked for the car for around 6 mths and they have both worked fine with new battery's etc etc.

I have tried recoding the keys to the car following numerous different ways online and even took it to a key coding shop with no avail.

Im having to lock my car with the key and it locks all the doors and boot and shows this by flashing the indicators with every turn but when it comes to unlocking it will only unlock the drivers door without any indicator flashes and if i dont put the key into the ignition within so long it sets the alarm off until the key is inserted into the ignition and turned on.

Now when i do a VCDS scan it is showing an error on the Can bus saying coding error and it wont let me connect to the central locking (module 35)

Im hoping its something as simple as that but id need help recoding to use the module.

Yeah my friend has updated to the 11.11.3 and not had chance to come back over to mine and do another scan (yet)

Im hoping once i have help he will come back over and help me code whatever is missing or whatever is wrong.

check coding of 19. check plugs, check measuring blocks for communication errors. replace can module maybe. test remotes first. if your local ill pop round and have a look.

with 8P A3 you don't connect to central locks, module 35. You connect to central convenience, module 46 which has shown up as status OK in your scan.

Connect to 46 & clear the remote memory then try adapting them again. There isn't any info for 8P A3 on Ross-tech wiki so just use 8E A4 guide

Tried that mate but its not showing the key once the button is being pressed.

Once i clear it and hold the button for 1 being one key and saving when i press the button that is still in the ignition a get one flash from the indicators and nothing else..

if you get a flash from the indicators when you press your remote then it's usually programmed. As soon as they've flashed you click save then click yes when small confirmation box appears.

So then you'd move on to 2nd remote. Click read, type the number 2 into the relevant box, click save then press button on remote until indicators flash, click save then yes! job done

What year is your A3?

They replaced the battery and tried to pair it up but with no joy.

all sorted! very bizarre problem! both keys were sending an RF signal but wouldn't operate remote locking even when indicators flashed during programming. Tried both my remotes & they worked straight away after programming
