Coilovers for the 8V

It does look too low for uk roads I would say, a high speed bump or people in the back (or the combination would probably give you some scraping.
So at the moment you at the lowest setting? I.e You can make it closer to stock ride height?

Any pictures of your car when you had your springs on? I have the same alloys so would love to know how mines going to look when I fit mine! Worried about the rears being too low i.e what you've pictured.. I'm only after a subtle drop on the rear.

That's the eibach springs

Thanks mate.

Just realised you said your coilovers on the rear are at their lowest setting..

How do they ride and handle compared to stock?

Hi looking for help....looking at the Bilstein B14 kit for my 3dr S3 and wondering if someone can tell me the right product number to order as its seems there is a few options....have the VWR springs on at the moment and hate them.

Cheers Craig

They are pitchy as hell if on a back road and hit a bump or dip before a bend it feels unsettled...also the creak and clunk, fitted twice and installed new top mounts and still the same.

What wheel alignment specs should I be running with coilovers? Any help please?

I got the Golf 7R alignment done on mine after coilovers, you should be able to get it done on yours.

Any upto date pics of these bilstein b14s guys?
I've heard the B14's are pretty sporty (harsh)....so unless you're tracking a lot you can save money with B12 (which I'm about to fit) or go the full monty on B16's which I've seen discounted a bit recently. But also depends on how much you want to drop the car too...I wanted minimal drop (10mm on B12) and didn't want to pony up for B16 even though on highest setting its pretty much stock

Hi

Can anyone recommend a good specialist to install the B14's on a 2017 S3 3door? I'm in South Cambs, near Royston.

B14s still the consensus VFM option to go for?

Cheers!

I would honestly say go the whole hog on B16 and be done....on the highest setting these give you same ride height as non-magride but with all the benefits of improved suspension....I'm not sure you get that with B14....I also just searched for B16 and found them online for $1500....but you're in UK so shipping maybe a factor

Thanks for the response. Think I might go for the B16s. The garage I just spoke to also suggested H&R ARBs front and rear with this set up. Anyone any experience with the two in conjunction?

So I’m considering taking the plunge, likely to be KW v2s although the Eibach Pro-Street S kit looks quite interesting - anybody running one?

you going to be tracking/racing your car? if not, I'd say its overkill for the road and will make for a pretty harsh ride.....but all depends on what you want and how good your roads are. I'd say do coilovers first and see how it is....then if anything do rear ARB first and see as I understand doing both cancels out more the benefits of the rear....obviously if you're experienced at all in this then ignore everything I'm saying lol

good skills @CJP80 ! hahaha.....hope you like them...in for comments when its done...lol
Many thanks to @deanshaw24 for doing my install on the B16’s. Have to say they are night and day better than the stock shocks. Currently quite a bit lower on the springs but with settings at 4 all round and it’s a great compromise between ride and capability. The bounce is gone completely and the suspension seems to get better the faster you go; now floats over ruts in the road I previously slowed for. It’s defintely more firmly sprung, but you only notice it at very low speed.

Only issue is the lower front end will require me to adjust the lights and it looks like auto levelling needs to be temporarily switched off in VDCS for this to be effected permanently?

How much did all that cost if you don’t mind me asking? Looking to get mine done in the future

One other, critical point, is that the revised suspension further accentuates the **** EPAS.
