my question is can oem audi bluetooth work with alternative systems?

well i have the rnse but i might want to upgrade and shift the system to mates audi. i have bluetooth installed and i want to keep it but would it work with another system besides the rns-e

Ahh, an alternative Head Unit..

OEM BT is a separate module to the head unit! so yes, it'll still work.

I removed my Concert II+ for an aftermarket H\U and had to disable oem BT because the new H\U has a Parrot BT system, the two were fighting to take my calls. :icon_thumright:

lol how would you operate oem bluetooth? i just dont want the hassle of routing the mic etc

The same way you normally do - with the Multi-function steering wheel!

The mic cable runs behind the knee panel and up behind the edge of the rubber strip on the A pillar, the mic clips onto the top of the trim, up near the side of the sun visor.

One of them had to go & the built-in Parrot system handles calls\data better than OEM, as you can scroll through numbers using the touchscreen & just touch an initial letter on screen to select the range of numbers starting with specified letter - rather than scrolling through one by one with the thumb-wheel! you can also see the whole name, unlike the on the DIS.
