Yes, but you do not offer a service for members in N Ireland. Why is that?

The club scheme uses a limited number of insurers who'll back us to attract as many members as possible. However, unfortunately there are some limitations. None of them will cover NI. I don't know why. They cite the country's recent history and the remaining element of volatility as risk factors but I'm not sure that's true. Until they give it a try they don't know what modern NI is like risk-wise. It's not that Chris Knott doesn't want to quote - we just don't have access to any insurers who'll allow us to quote.

You know that's a real shame given that theikes of LV and Admiral do service NI. It seems extraordinary that we are bei g snubbed over here. From what I can glean, statistically, there are no more claims here per capita compared to GB. I guess just lost revenue for those insurers you are dealing with.

Got the impression that I was just another 'sheep' on the telephone that day. Wouldn't give me a price, just that we'll match your lowest quote?

I'm all for investigating if customers say they've had issues as it gives us a chance to learn and make amends if we need to.

I've listened to the whole call. You spoke to Jack and admittedly the questions we have to ask can be monotonous but I actually thought he was quite engaging (and you made it easy too by being a cheery customer), especially when you asked about how the market views your model generally and why there seems to have been a standard hike in premiums this year.

He quoted you the same as your other quote but included legal expenses cover free of charge (normally £25 and which you didn't have in the other quote) and made sure your mods would be covered like-for-like in the event of repair (which we don't think the AA offers).

Such is the nature of our facility for car club members that insurers allow us to respond to actual live rates rather than have fixed premiums in place that we have to achieve for them. This works really well for most members as we can get a better feel for you than a restrictive computer-generated quote allows. We have matched your best alternative and provided a better level of cover for the price.

I understand that sometimes customers see things differently but we'd love to have you on-board if that's possible.
