Hello,

I'm looking at a 2016, 35k mile, 5dr S1 with what seems to be a very standard spec, on sale at a big dealer at £16,300. I quite like its slightly understated look.

It's been at the dealer since October last year unyet it seems more or less correctly priced. It just occurred to me that S1s might be hard to sell second hand as perhaps not that many people really want them? (Clearly we have had covid and the dealer might be holding out for too high a price. Their A1s and S3's though seem to sell faster).

Also, does anyone have any tips on...
1. what to look for on an S1 of this age. I've seen that clutches can be a problem and fuel lines rattling against the body in the engine bay.
2. what sort of price is really right. Webuyanycar suggests about £15k and i've no idea whether that's a firm number or whether they negotiate you down a long way from their first offer. If they don't then the £16,300 wouldn't appear at all unreasonable.

Any help very welcome and looking forward to joining the S1 'club' soon...

Peter
