Correct fluid for transmission

I recently had my clutch replaced and the garage FOC put 75w gearbox oil in. The gears are hard when the car is cold and the garage has suggested changing the transmission oil. I ordered some from Opieoils which is recommended by them for Audi as Fuchs 75w sintofluid which arrived this morning. I have however spoke to a VAG specialist and they mentioned another car having similar issues and only sorted when using their own oil. Now Audi’s oil is £80 more expensive and I thought it was just rebranded.
So what are your thoughts, should I use Audi’s own or will Opies oil be fine?

Now that’s my thought, Audi just rebrand and over charge. Just thought I would ask as someone may have a more definitive answer and know if there are any differences.

I’m not in the car mechanics field but from what I do understand regarding oils is if they comply with manufacturers spec then that is good enough, maybe someone else maybe able to clarify things.

Well I purchased the oil from Audi £106 and it rectified the problem immediately

Fuchs Titan Sintofluid SAE 75W-80 or Fuchs Titan Sintofluid FE SAE 75W ?

I used neither but it is 75w in my s3 8V manual.
I went with the Audi oil on the say so of a VAG Specialist and also when ordering oil from Audi there was 2 different oils for my car dependent upon a code on my gearbox which was identified from codes within my service booklet.

ok then, I can only speak from personal experience. I ordered the correct Fuchs oil but returned it upon the response from someone who used it in a manual car like mine that was showing the same problem and when using Audis own branded oil which was specific to my gearbox and rectified the problem immediately.
I don't like paying the high price tag and was under the assumption oil was oil, it was just rebranded but this has proven that is not true and even more so when Audi requested the code for my gearbox as there were two alternatives for my year of car. If it was just a case of purchasing Fuchs oil as you said then why would Audi request the code off the gearbox and another specialist having the same issue.

What Fuchs , what VW spec ?

The oil that was recommended was FE SAE 75w Sintofluid, but I never used it in the end.

It would of been mint , what Audi VW spec did you use , G 052 171 ?

I can't remember I did write it down but have thrown the paperwork out now. the problem I faced was another specialist using decent oil and had the same issues. this was brought to my attention after ordering the Fuchs Oil, so I faced the dilemma of using the Fuchs Oil for £39 which if it didn't work which I had a had been told wouldn't by more than one person would then have to purchase the £106 oil from Audi. and to put things in perspective not knowing if it was the transmission oil thats was the cause of the issue, so I thought go with manufactures oil and then if the problem persisted the garage would have to look else where and sort the problem FOC.
