This is something that has annoyed me a few times.

"Would you like to insure your parcel in the event of loss or damage"

What? - In my mind, that translates to "You are paying us to do a job, but incase we cant do it properley would you like to pay us some more"

I can understand for international delivery.etc as it goes through multiple handlers, but for a parcel going 70 miles away, I dont want to pay an extra £9 ontop of what im already paying.

I'm with you there, but it doesn't stop me from telling them the value of item is 40 quid, when it's actually £5, but they've not lost anything of mine yet...

What bugs me is the post offices insistence on knowing exactly what is in the parcel. I know some things are sent by air across the country are are restricted by the CAA but a simple declaration that the parcel or package contains nothing on their restricted list should be sufficient.

The amount of sex toys that I have sent, and declared in a very loud voice, is probably starting to get on their nerves at my local post office, despite it just being a book or something:D
