During normal daylight hours the dash visibility is very poor.
I can turn up the brightness of the speedo & fuel gauge needle, etc. so no problem there.
However, the background of the dash is very hard to see, and I can't find a way to make that brighter.
The net result is it is very difficult to read the fuel gauge.

If I turn on the side/head lights then everything is fine. But I don't want my lights on during the day.
Hope all that makes sense.

Is there work around for this.
Thanks

I think my dash backlight bulb/led must be fused, as the info-tainment screen in the centre of the car is properly illuminated and the brightness for the whole screen changes when I adjust the brightness.
Has anyone ever replaced these, or a Youtube link?

I think that they will be LEDs and that they or their contacts to the PCB have failed, so a dash pod out investigate and fix, or send away for others to repair it for you - though I hope that I'm wrong.

Yes they are very small SMD LEDs soldered onto the PCB. Quite a common fault

I have exactly the same issue on my A3. Once my work van is sorted I can take the car back off the road to sort it out. As said above, it will be the soldered joints breaking down.
