Dashcam install

I know its been covered quite a lot, but I just want to check after reading several posts to make sure im on the right track before starting.

My plan is to run the cable for the dash cam down the passenger side, down the pillar and into the fuse box inside the glove box.

Use fuse 40 which I understand is the 12v cigarette socket.

Earth using the bolt in the A pillar...

Does that sound about right?

The car is audi A3 2014 8V

I only want the camera to work when the ignition is on.

Use a real earthing point, best for your install would be passenger footwell:
