In south africa there on sale for about 7k... there is a VW factory out there, so they still produce all of them brand new.

I remember reading somewhere that someone imported one and it was registered as an M plate or something, they are still called Rabbits in that part of the world right?

I think they only use the name 'Rabbit' in North America, another strange thing is (at least in Canada) they only sell the Mk V Golf with a 2.5 170bhp petrol engine or the 200bhp GTI, no diesel or smaller engined malarky...

(and guess what, loads cheaper too....)
