Hi all, I'm only asking this question as I stumbled across a few videos etc. in YouTube showing you have to replace the actuator, I've always just pressed the fuel flap in/out since acquiring my A6, was none the wise on the fuel cap locking with the car.

I've checked for the emergency cable in the rear/boot and can't see it, so no sure if this is standard on the car or an optional extra.

Cheers

99% certain it’s standard. It will be a red plastic cable for the emergency pull cord.

Yeah have seen the red plastic cable in many videos, can't locate it in my car though ????

The actuator is the locking mechanism which is triggered by the central locking.

You can without taking the whole boot liner to bits feel along the inside of the rear panel from the access hatch to the back or the locking mechanism/actuator.

Hopefully the red pull cord is just tucked away and hasn't been broken off by being pulled too hard.
