Dodgy Fuel Gauge

Hi guys,

I had my car mapped and cruise control fitted the other day which was great.

But today, when I think I had about a 1/4 of a tank left, after stopping the car and starting it again, I got the refuel beep, and the range showed 0 miles and the fuel gauge was on completely empty, IE resting against the left side.

I went to the garage and filled it, it took 39 litres or so. What size is the tank?

When I restarted the gauge only showed just over half full with a range of 210 miles and then slowly went up to full.

This is the first time I've noticed a problem with the gauge and am wondering if it was somthing to do with the mapping or cruise control being fitted or if it is an easy fix? It is not flicking quickly like I saw another member had happening.

Possibly a faulty fuel sender

Full tank is 62 litres or thereabouts.

So still had about twenty left then and it was saying empty and 0 miles!

i am having the same problem i fill it up it says i have no fuel then after driving it goes to full and doesnt move :/ need help

Mine does the same....Has a mind of it's own sometimes...lol
