Does the standard exhaust pop and crackle?

I should add if you don’t have sports exhaust it might be fairly tame in startup.
I can only comment on sports exhaust.

I’ve tried both types and prefer the ASR one listed below.

Or the cete one which works through the drive select keeping the flaps open 100% when in dynamic.

Both are the same to fit, fairly easy diy job taking about 15-20 mins

Cete one works from the ESC button also

Two quick taps either way for closed or open.

By default they are in the quietest mode when started up cold, can’t change that unless you unplug the valves in the open position.

Always a startup bark though, neighbours love it

On the cete one it works with drive select so
Comfort they stay closed on startup and to about 5000 rpm or 4000rpm can’t remember.
Auto works as it does now.
Dynamic flaps open 100% of the time.
By double tapping the esc button you can toggle between valves open or closed in any mode.
Start/stop deactivates it so it works normal in all modes.

I use the ASR one where you can program start mode or have open or closed in any mode.
Mines set to stock so noisy starts but when I start from cold I press the closed button just before starting.

Just thought I'd bump this as had my little lad in car today with windows down now we finally have a decent hot today.
Not going fast but changing down a gear from medium/high revs, the cracks and pops are just crazily addictive and loud and 4yr old son was absolutely loving it. I have no idea how Audi got away with the exhaust - and hope I don't wreck my gearbox

I have standard exhaust.
I found sports a bit too loud for the money.

Yes standard still has some noise and pops and crackles .
I didn't find it a load different to the sports

Just my view. I drove two with sports exhaust and one without.
I might sound clip it as not many found clips about.

And I'm used to having customers excuses on previous cars

Didn't feel it was a 1k difference.
