DR308 not saving to card

Fitted about a year ago. I took out the 32gb card to download some footage and inserted the 16gb card I have. I took out the 16gb card to replace it with the 32gb card only to find out the 16gb card has not saved any footage while it was in the camera.

Would a re format sort it?

Answered my own question, a re format and firmware upgrade sorted it out fine.
