Dropping a 07 engine into an 04 car?

Hello guys,

Im (un)lucky enough to own an 04 Avant which needs a new engine & turbo. Its a Nov 04 1.9 TDI 115 PD. Engine code BKE. Quite rare.

The BKE was used in A4 B7s right up to round 07 iirc. Would an 07 BKE drop right into my 04 Avant, theoretically?

Should do... you might have to swap a few sensors round but it's doable !

Would I be right in saying a lot of the B7s are 115 bhp?

I think all the 1.9 tdi's in the B7 are 115

I dont think you even need to swap any sensors

get a copy of etka and cross reference the sensors from the b6 engine codes against the b7 and the loom too while your at it

I would do it for you but etka wont work on my windows 7!!

Whilst Im at it, Id need to check if my current flywheel & clutch are the same too?

My B6 A4 I believe got the newer type 1.9 engines that went into the B7s. My engine code is BKE - I know for sure there were BKE engines used in the B7s.
