Dtm going. What next?

Ok so I'm getting rid of my imola stage 2 dtm. I don't want the finance hanging over me. It will allow me to save for a car. I will have 3k ish. Would it be daft to go back to a b5 s4? What other cars would you suggest on a 3-4k budget?

mmm hard to give ideas for this one as the next car you choose at that price you will miss the DTM and start comparing you could go for S-line 1.8T Quattro B6 you may have to pay little more as being a quattro??

It needs to be as fast if not faster. Doesn't have to be 4 door no. Want to stick with VAG as this is what we specialise in at work. Hence thinking s4. Mpg don't matter as its a weekend toy! Don't want a v8 really and would only want an rs not just an s.

I always loved the B5 S4, I was sad when my dad replaced his with an A8 4.0 TDI. Would be interesting going into one and pla with it, the trouble is there are a lot of messed about with sheds out there and finding a good example might take a while. After having a 2.0T it would be hard for me to go back to a 1.8T, but the 8L S3s are still nice.

not Quattro, but the Haldex never let me down on my old one.. pretty cheap too now

think I'd be looking at an S3 8L mate. Them bam 1.8t 225's are a very tuneable engine. I had a Leon cupra r with the same engine, running about 280 bhp, went well! Shame it wasn't 4 wheel drive otherwise I'd recommend 1 of them do you still have that k04 or is it on the Dtm?

I have the k04 s3 injectors and flange in a box. Only thing I got round to doing was modifying the downpipe flange. This will all be sold separately
