Engine cover customisation ideas??

Hi guys, I'm thinking of customising my plastic engine cover in some way to brighten up my bay a little. I have the 2.0TDI unit, so there's some rough textured stuff on it in parts.

Has anyone painted or wrapped theirs? Post pics if you have

Plasti dip is out of the question for me living in NI. Nobody wants to send it from the mainland in aerosol form. I bought some standard black cans about a year ago for doing my chrome trim, ended up getting it sent to a family member's house in England then brought it home on the boat when I was visiting!

I'm happy to paint it myself, love a bit of DIY spraying. I was just looking for ideas really!
