Engine does not start again if I turn it off after a short run.

I’ve been experiencing this for over month now and think it is related to the glow plug light not coming on. Starts perfectly first time but not second. Any ideas?

Is the engine warm when it won’t start again?

Glow plug light should come on, could be the relay.

Strange one for sure, if it was a bit warm I would have gone coolant/fuel temp sensor.

I presume idle is fine, drives fine otherwise?

Does it run smooth when you first drive it?

My mate had a very similar problem. Turned out the fuel pump had started to fail and the first injector was blocked

VCDS can give you a injector balance figure which can tell you if you have 1 cyl in particular that’s not quite right.
Fortunately the fuel pumps not all that expensive compared to lots of cars, it’s a tandem pump fuel and vacuum but the injectors ain’t cheap so it worth being sure before you go down that road.
