Engine management and traction control light

Hi Guys,

Just hoping you could give me some input, now both lights come on and off, now theyll be on for a day or two but then both go off for a week or so.

Anybody know what the hell is going on?!?!?!?

I had a similar problem, traced to the brake pedal and brake light switch..eventually a brake light bulb blew, I replaced the bulb and haven't had the problem since.
Could be a bulb failing or the switch itself behind the brake pedal

Really need to get the car scanned with VagCom or similar for fault codes as it could be anything TBH
Maf would be my guess, but like i said, it could be a multitude of things
