ESP and ABS light on

Sorry- I know this has been covered 1000 times (probably),

but upon starting the 8L this weekend, at one point, I got the yellow telltales for ESP and ABS staying on after startup test. I stopped and restarted the car and they went out- drove over a pothole and the ESP flickered (which was odd- hardly a skid).

I had a couple of new back tyres fitted after the MOT on Wednesday last week- coincidence??

what does it mean??

as previous threads on this will tell you, sooo many things to check. wheel alignment, abs wheel sensors, lateral sensor, longitudinal sensor, abs module.

hmm right...

would any of this register in VCD/VAG-COM even though it was intermittent...?

yeh it would, all but alignmemnt would show up as a fault. in my case it was a longitudinal sensor, replaced and abs now works. my esp light is related to something else, not figured that out yet lol
