exhaust popping

sorry for highjacking the a3 forum but iv tried the volkwagon part and had no reply,
iv got a golf 1.8t and basically i want to know how to get the exhaust to pop between changes,

my mates corsa vxr sound like a rally car and pops 3/4 times when changing or letting off. is there any way to get my car to do this
iv got a cat back exhaust is it just a case of getting a decat.

aprt from engine mods and exaust, i just want it to pop between changes when im givin it some

Its all about the exhaust. My car has a 3" catback exhaust and I get it now and then, not every time though thank god. Mainly going between 1st and 2nd gear under big load.

yeah i get it every so often, suprisingly when blimpling the throttle when parking or manovering, the exhaust i have is 2.5" with a 4" tailpipe so is there no realway of making my car do this,

all my mate has on his vxr is a down pipe and backbox and that has 3/4 fast pops when chaning under boost, it sounds like a rallycar,
