Interesting, totally a fob off.

There isn’t a fix a dealer is going to be able to perform, unless it’s a rattle can one.

Does this mean this should be covered under warranty? As when I showed the dealer I visited they said it wasn’t.

Nope just advises dealers that Audi are aware of the issue and as it states tells them to do absolutely nothing about it.

My one has gone quite bad and the bottom half of the tip is polished chrome... half hour later they’re sooted up and look black again, easy.

My chrome tips on my PFL have pitted quite badly. Took it to my local dealership they blamed outside elements on it, and that was that:tearsofjoy:. Car was two years old then.

Oh well you have to choose your battles wisely in this life.

But you are used to fob offs by now

Get em carbon fibre coated and you’ll be right.

Fob off’s are what inspire me to carry on nagging

Shush you. Carbon fibre is used in race cars I’ll have you know, it’s an expensive, tasteful modification

Say no more.

There's actually a TPI for this now and the solution is for Audi to grind off the original tips at the welds and then weld on new black tips.........

Blimey, not sure I’d trust Audi with a grinder near my pride and joy but good there is a solution!

Question is though are the new tips of an improved paint quality or will they just do it again in 6-12 months?

I have just been told that this is not covered under warranty as there are too many external sources to cause damage, like stones etc
