Facelift mirrors fitted.....

yes A never supported the wing mirror side repeater hence the new control unit does and A didn't support the new type folding mirror

anyway back to these indicators

you can try either wiring the new mirrors into the control units pins and recode the door control units for wing mirror indicators and see if they work or wire direct

as nhn has mentioned there may be a difference in the voltage so if you wire into the control unit and connect vcds select output test for drivers door
the indicator should work and i think this will be a duty cycle signal of 5 volts on

you can then check your existing wiring from j519 by turning the indicator on and connecting a multimeter or scope and see what voltage that puts out

you don't wont 12 volts going to the led as it might blow it

i don't know the exact voltage but its worth checking just in case

its a case of trying it out and see what happens

So are you saying it could work without even re-wiring anything ?

just check the these and change the wiring if needed

if you mean the indicators then yes they may work without altering anything as long as the door control units are coded for them

double check the pin-outs first for all the rest of the wires as the mirror loom is part of the new mirrors, so should just plug straight into the door control unit without any pin changes me thinks

To use the facelift modules you have to rewire the 20 & 32 pin connectors that plug into the door module, the 16 pin from the mirror itself doenst need any rewiring, just plug in as is, dont bother using wing wiring, do it properly to save any issues later & dont forget to code the modules for the led's.

how did u you get on doing this i still to do mine at some point

are the also for a 2007 sportback
because i have problems with my exit doorlights at the passenger and drivers side.
both doors in the back are working fine

Welcome to the site.

You need to tell us what you've done 1st, have you swapped modules, upgraded etc.

your right NHN

so what i did,

i didnt swap any modules..it was a upgrade.
both doors in the back i changed out the cable for a (all original audi parts)cable with the upgrade option inside door handle light and de door exit lights
The door on the driversside and the passengerside are giving me a problems.
everything works beside the door handle lights and the exit lights.
the module in the drivers side is the 8P0 959 801H

Have you coded the modules for the lights?

yes i did coded with vagcom and everything works no errors also not from the modules in the front doors (drivers/passengerside)

If you've coded your fronts aswell & they dont work, then check your ground wiring as on some of these they were shared & possibly linked to the wrong pins.

Ok i will check that, so if i unstand it correctly for both 32 pin connector.
the pen settings i have to use are these

Pin no. : Discription
1 : for the Exit/warning lamp
2 : mass
14 : interior door lamp

regarding the mass both the exit/warning lamp and the interior door handle lamp are joint to mass wire?

and these pin settings will work on a 2007 audi a3 sportbak

Well an 07 car shows pin 4 as the ground for the handle led.

Well an 07 car shows pin 4 as the ground for the handle led.

Ok but the other pin discriptions are ok
then i will use pin 4 as a mass point
For the exit/warning lamp and the interior door handle lamp

but were are you gettung you information from is that elsawin?
