fitting coilovers

have tried the search, no luck.

ive fitted coils before, just not on an a3, any links to guides? anything tricky about the a3?

Nah, looks harder than it is, coilovers should be pretty easy as I don't think you will be needing any parts from the original shocks so you won't need to strip them down.

You might still need spring compressors though, I had to compress the springs on my shocks to remove them from the hub.
 
Coilovers are easy to put on, removing the front standard is just a right b*itch if you don't have the necessary 'little' tool...

I would suggest you read the guide properly, take your time, get all what is needed and then start. Get soemone to help you. That would make it easier.

And be prepared for a lot of swearing...LOL

BTW, I didn't use that small tool neede, I just somehow managed to do mine with adapters/ratchet extensions

you might have a prob with the drivesharft on the drivers side tho!...
