Q3 Flashing Coil Lights & limp Mode

I have a Q3 S-Line 2013 and every now and then the coil flashes orange and my car will go into limp mode. I have taken to garages and they have said its the DPF that is the issue,(No DPF symbol on dash) When driving the coil light it will come on and go into limp mode if i switch my engine off and on again it corrects and come's out of limp mode. Could this simply be the glow plugs?

If you take the car to an Audi dealer or a VAG independent they will be able to hook the car up to the diagnostics platform and see what error codes the engine ECU has recorded. Will be a fairly simple fix after that.
