Can anyone direct me an idiots guide to remove the front brake calliper?

I have a foreign object stuck in the brake pad creating a lovely score mark on the disc!!

Thanks

You shouldn't need to remove the caliper if you just have a stone or something caught, remove the pads and go from there.

Thought you had to remove the calliper to remove the brake pad?

Normally there are 4 bolts that hold the caliper, 2 hold the brake bracket to the hub, then the caliper itself has two bolts that screw into the bracket, they are on slider pins, you can remove one and the caliper can hinge off, so that you can remove / change pads.
You only need to remove the bracket if you want to replace the disc.

Hope it helps, most brakes are the same in design, if I remember correctly caliper bolts are 13mm.

You do - but the caliper carrier bracket stays fixed to the hub. You only need to remove this when changing the disc. SevenW above has it spot on.

Thanks @SevenW , I'll have a look over the weekend. Thought whatever was in there may have dislodged by now, but the score mark seems to be getting deeper!

Think it's a 17mm spanner you need at the other end of the slider bolt.
