Thought this may help a few of you sleep more easily at night!

My fuel econ has beed terrible over the last few months. Anyway I read somewhere that you should regularly reset the DIS control stalk - but not just the average mpg, also time travelled and average speed. Also it's good practise to reset the journey trip counter too.

Until I'd done this my motorway driving was 26-27 mpg and round urban 24 mpg.

After the reset my car did 31mpg on a return trip to liverpool from NE.

Also urban driving is now at 28-29 mpg.

Previously I thought I was having Lamba sensors probs and running a wrong fuel mix..

I am now getting aroung 360 miles on a full tank.

It's the buttons on the end of the wiper stalk.

To reset the various 'screens', hold down the button on the underside of the wiper stalk until the DIS display in between the rev counter and speedo resets.

(Assuming you have DIS, of course..)

It's the display stalk. For the onboard computer. On the right of the steering column.

Scroll to each option and hold down the button underneath for about 3 seconds. The display will go blank. This is reset. Some are not re-settable. You have to do it for each one you want. It is not global.

Do it with the ignition on. The engine can be running if you want.
