Fuel Gauge issue

Sorry if this has been addressed before.
I recently have had issues with my fuel gauge, it either reads empty (putting the warning light on) or full, no inbetween.
Id driven the car around 50 miles around town from a full tank, so know it should be less than full. but on starting it showed empty after a number of times. Then after driving down the street it showed full. (its either full or empty on the display). Ive tried pluging into software, but no error code thrown up?
Personally i think its a sender unit as car is 19-20 years old, but any advice would be much appreciated.

Similar issue, mine overeads by around 10 litres. Has also said empty when full and warned of low fuel when full. Got to be the sender. Keep me updated as I intend to replace the sender when I have time if I can get one.

Will keep you informed mate.
Going to price up a new one from audi and a second hand one from a breaker. But really need to get it checked by a specialist so i'm not wasting money.

Got a code for this today
