Fuel guage problems

Wondered if anyone could help with this problem.
The Fuel guage on my 1.8T 1999
The guage and computer display is fine most of the time. Occasionaly when I start the car the guage goes to empty & the computer display bleeps empty. It is also now going to full when the tank is only half full.


Also the dash lights on the heater controls do not work. Have controls only, no climate. Have changed the central bulb but still no good.

Any ideas??

If you do a search mate, there is lots of info on this, its basically going to be the fuel sender, which can be found in the fuel tank in the boot.

That will either need to be cleaned or replaced.

Will cost about £40 for the part.
